It feels like it’s been a long week for us all. Hopefully this list of movies helps you zone out for a bit by putting your nerves on edge even more…Well, it’s a horror list, so probably won’t relax you. Just wanted to be honest. But anyway, let’s kick off the end of our four-part list, shall we?
Vampires Vs. The Bronx
A relatively new entry, compared to the majority of our list but it was definitely a fun watch. We should this film not long after it’s release and it was enjoyable. What happens when your neighborhood gets gentrified…by vampires? Well in this film a trio of BX natives find out and have to save their neighborhood in more ways than one.
Vampire in Brooklyn
Okay, so this is probably on the end of Eddie’s not so good/popular films but we said not all are going to be gold star worthy, right? Either way Eddie still does is thing of being amazing at playing multiple roles in the same movie. From a Vampire, to stick up kid, to preacher; Eddie Murphy still draws you in and makes you laugh a bit. If you’re looking for an off-beat movie on the list, you should probably start here.
The First Purge
Let’s keep the New York borough theme going, shall we? This time, we head over to Staten Island. Another movie we’ve shown earlier this year that’s a recommended watch. The film pulls in relevant political themes, the attack on low-income areas and more, all while depicting what could be in an alternate universe. The concept of controlling overpopulation, poverty and hunger by allowing murder, amongst other crimes to be legal? All this creates a very scary possibility.
Leprechaun 5: In the Hood
Now we’re going from East to West coast! This is probably another “hood classic” that you may or may not have seen. Ice-T stars in the 2000 film where he finds a magic flute that makes him the richest man in the game. And when 3 dudes try to rob him, they unleash a unexpected terror on themselves and the entire hood.
Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror’s
I mean, just look at the cast. Is there much more to say beyond that? Another early 2000’s “hood classic”. This film goes all over the place, blood, gore, animation. But again, you want an off-beat film to watch? This is another one for you!
